GEORGE ROBERTS – Born 1758, enlisted 1777 in Wilkes County, NC under Capt. Samuel Johnson for three years and was in the battles of Guilford Court House, Ninety Six, etc.
He died January 1, 1864 in Buncombe County, NC at the age of 106 years. Notes in 1868 state he left a son William N. Roberts who was born in 1820 and who in 1868 was living in Haywood County, NC.
