JAMES JESTER – Born July 29, 1763 in Kent County, Delaware and in 1777 moved to North Carolina with his father. He enlisted in Guilford County, NC under Capt. John McAdoo, Col. Martin, etc. He also served under General Washington.
Robert Williamson and George Penland soldiers of the Revolution and neighbors of James Jester testified to his services. In 1832 he was living in Buncombe County, NC age 72 years, and in 1840 he was living in Buncombe County at the age of 78 years at the home of Thomas Jester.
