I, Laura E. Hunt, wife of H. C. Hunt of the City of Asheville in the State and county aforesaid do make and publish this my last will and testament … to my son, Rufus G. Hunt … the house on Chestnut St. now occupied by Mr. G. A. Greer as a residence.

…Delia Exum, Colored who has so long served me faithfully as cook and servant … the lot next to Rachel Love … to my daughter, Laura Mears … to my granddaughter … to my niece, Laura Hunt, daughter of Joseph Hunt … to the Christian Church of Asheville worshiping at the corner of Woodfin and Spruce Streets … to my four children, to wit … Edwin Howard Hunt, Fannie G. Wife of Gastin Mears, Mammie A. Wife of Blakley K. Summers and Rufus G. Hunt … my husband, H. C. Hunt.
In testimony, whereof I have unto set my hand and seal this the twenty second day of August AD, 1896.
