New! The 1810 Census for Haywood County, North Carolina, Compiled by Sandra Samz, Published by OBCGS* *When Thomas D. Love took this census in 1810 he reported on 384 households. Some of the published accounts of this census do not include the names found on the first two pages and this includes the census found on Ancestry. The omission was due to the fact that these two pages are not readable on any microfilm except the original found at the National Archives. Years ago there were at least two authors who were allowed to view this original and collect the names from these two pages. We have compiled those missing names into our transcription. It includes the names for 384 heads of household with one exception that was not readable even on the original. You might want to check out this new list for your ancestor. |
